A year’s work by the Art and Crafts Group that meets every Wednesday,
culminated in an art exhibition, which was on display for the quiz night and then
the Harvest Lunch the following day. We asked for votes from our MCCP
supporters, choosing their favourite three exhibits. The votes were counted up
Derrick Spence, our art teacher, announced the worthy winners. It was wonderful
to have had so many votes and to have so many encouraging and complimentary
comments.
The winners were as follows:
Joint First Place:
Ruth Frowen – Ducks on the Water
June Nunn – West Markham Church
Second Place:
Ruth Frowen – Tree Trunk in the Pond
Third Place:
June Palmer – Cliffs
We had the first of our history talks in October, it was excellent and gave us a
fascinating insight into the Pilgrim Fathers, we are surrounded in this area by their
history and it was really interesting to find out more about them. A huge thank you
to Maggy and Chris Watkins who gave up their time to do this.
We also had wonderful party and celebration to welcome Cameron Mainprize to
the village, held at All Saints Church, West Markham. It was great to see the
church packed full again. Thank you to Kerry, Tom, Judith and Ken, it was a
pleasure and privilege to be able to welcome Cameron into the church and village
community and a great and very special occasion.
The knit and natter group have been knitting baby clothes for the Neonatal Unit at Doncaster Hospital, they dropped in the donations of baby clothes this week.
